Who We Are
We are Jacob and Sydney Mulford, and we are BBFI Missionaries to the people of Lisbon, Portugal. Our desire is to see the people of Portugal worship Christ because He is worthy as the Savior of the world, and God desires for the world to repent and believe in Christ. He uses His church to spread His Gospel message, and He has called us to Lisbon. For these reasons, we are stepping out in faith with His calling on our lives to evangelize, disciple, and plant churches in Lisbon, Portugal.
Why Portugal?
Portugal is a country on the Iberian Peninsula in Western Europe with a population of over 10 million people. Many of the people of Portugal would identify as “Christian” but are unaware of what it means to actually have a relationship with Jesus. Only about 3% of the population would claim to be evangelical Christians. There are dozens of unreached neighborhoods in Lisbon.
What's Our Plan?
Our goal is to plant a church in the suburbs of Lisbon. There are multiple suburbs and neighborhoods without a Gospel presence. Our plan is to move to Portugal by the summer of 2025. We will spend our first few years learning the Portuguese language, serving in a local church alongside missionaries Beau and Valerie Moore while being mentored by them, and learning what it looks like to serve Jesus and serve others in the country of Portugal.
Who Are We With?
We are missionaries through the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. The BBFI provides services for over 700 missionaries in over 80 countries around the world. Along with providing service to missionaries, they also partner with over 4,000 churches around the United States in fulfilling the Great Commission to evangelize, church plant, and disciple among the nations.
How Can We Serve You?
We not only want to Show Portugal the love of Christ, but we wanna be able to serve you as well. We love the local church, and we love not only the encouragement we receive from you, but being able to encourage you too. Having done photography for over 6 years, we would love to be able to serve you by taking staff photos or portraits for you just as an encouragement and thank you for all that you do for us.

We love to excite and inspire the local church to be involved in missions by sharing what God is doing in Portugal. God is opening doors, changing lives, and growing His church in Lisbon. Because of these reasons, we believe you should consider partnering with us in the Great Commission.
